Spirited News Review

Write for us

Spirited News Review welcomes pitches that help readers examine how news is worded, sourced, framed or understood. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article without an invitation.

What fits

Pitch a focused, evergreen piece about a recognisable reading skill: tracing a claim, interpreting attribution, noticing a framing choice or understanding what uncertainty means. We value precise explanations that leave room for readers to think, not sweeping claims about what all news or all readers do.

A useful proposal

Explain the central question, your proposed answer, why it matters to a curious general reader and what material or examples the piece would rely on. Keep the scope manageable, distinguish evidence from interpretation, and note any relevant interests that could affect the work.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to send your proposal. A pitch should stand on its own in the message; do not include private or confidential material. Sending an idea does not mean it has been accepted or commissioned.
